Volcano Celebrates the 4th of July

It’s that time of year again when the community and visitors of Volcano celebrates the 4th of July parade. Whether you’re a part of the parade or even a spectator, there’s no doubt in saying that this is one of Volcano’s shining moments. The parade starts right next to the Volcano Store at 9:00 am, goes through the village and ends at Cooper Center. There are a variety of participants in the parade including our amazingly talented Hawaii County Band, Volcanoes National Park volunteers and employees, KDEN (The Kilauea Drama Entertainment Network) members, and even the Humane Society.

Our Restaurant Story

Albert and I  married in Hana,  Maui in 1986.   Honeymooning a month after our November wedding, we chose Volcano Village on the Big Island.  At our  Bed and Breakfast accommodations and during our walks and picnics in the National Park, we made a life changing decision.  We would give up our former careers…Albert as a 30 year veteran of the film industry, me as a Honolulu high school psychology teacher.

Volcano Village Annual Artist Event

The Volcano Village Annual Artist Event is set for Thanksgiving weekend November 27 – 29, 2015 from 10am – 4pm. Come to enjoy beautiful Volcano Village while shopping for amazing local artwork and crafts.   There will be six studios open throughout the village to visit and talk story with the sixteen represented artists.  Watch for the fiddlehead banners that will be posted around the Volcano Village to mark the location of each studio.
